Multicast Labs, Inc was founded in 2007 and incorporated in 2008. The company was founded with a vision of providing completely new paradigms for consumer/Internet interactions. Our technology enables a new web environment, built upon existing protocols and software development technologies, but with a new concept for sites dominated by video and unique delivery of data and applications.
The model for web interaction up to this point has been incorporated into the standard browsers available today and it is great. There are more multimedia sites and those are clearly a trend. However, a new model, not based on traditional sites but more on multimedia portals where consumers get a rich video area and desired data is put into local entities: folders, cupboards, and cabinets for example. Many older concepts, well accepted and often a result of mapping from the analog world, work in the new environment but the possibilities are much broader.
There are a number of core elements that MCL is developing to realize this vision. Among them is the video engine, MX4. This new video technology includes a compression system that delivers the highest quality video at the lowest costs and fastest data transfers. This component in the MCL suite is essential for implementing the environment and delivering the content at the loest cost.
